Understanding Gender-Affirming Care Workshop

Tuesday, February 11,
6:00–7:30 p.m. EST

We’re opening the new year with a workshop that is in high demand! We know that families want and need to receive more information and education about gender-affirming care, so we’re partnering with a team of medical professionals to offer a virtual workshop on the topic.

Join us on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 6:00–7:30 p.m. EST for an informative presentation about gender-affirming care with Dr. Danny Birkhead, MD, and Dr. Christina Roberts, MD, where they will discuss puberty blockers, hormone replacement therapy, how to access the services at the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center, and more. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A.

Drs. Birkhead and Roberts provide care at Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center (AHC), which offers free and confidential comprehensive medical care for youth ages 13-26 through a grant and philanthropic-based healthcare model embedded within a larger academic health system. At the AHC, services include a robust gender clinic, primary care, treatment for substance use and eating disorders, STI prevention and treatment, family planning, contraception, LGBTQ+ care, and mental health support, and there are Adolescent Medicine Specialists, Pediatricians, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, Fellows, Residents, and Social Workers on staff. Their gender program offers management of social affirmation, puberty blockers, hormone replacement therapy, and legal and mental health support.

The workshop will take place through Zoom and is free to attend. Please register through the registration button below, and a link will be sent out prior to the workshop. Note that no replay will be available, so registrants must attend live.

If you have any questions or are unable to register via the form, please contact info@pflagnyc.org.
