Black Family Circle

Black Family Circle

Black Family Circle is dedicated to families and individuals who identify as Black and have LGBTQ+ loved ones. It's a warm and inviting space to gather virtually and find community.

The group provides family-to-family support with a focus on the intersection of accepting an LGBTQ+ child and one’s experience as a member of the Black community. While the experiences of being Black in America vary tremendously, there are shared cultural factors that play a role in supporting a family’s well-being, resiliency, and understanding when a loved one comes out as LGBTQ+. Come into the Circle with us!

This group meets online on the fourth Sunday of every month from 2:00–3:30 p.m. ET.

Have you attended a Black Family Circle meeting? We'd love to hear from you! You can leave anonymous feedback through our support group attendee feedback form.

In order to keep a safe and confidential meeting space, you must register to attend PFLAG NYC meetings online. The link to join the meeting on Zoom will be provided to everyone who registers in advance.

Please click the button below to access the registration form, and contact [email protected] if you have any questions about the group.

PFLAG NYC groups are peer-to-peer support spaces led by trained volunteer facilitators. Our facilitators do not act as licensed mental health professionals during meetings, nor do they provide counseling or therapy. If you are seeking mental health resources, please contact us, and we can make referrals.
