On March 11, 1973, a group of parents, along with some of their children and other friends, met at Metropolitan-Duane Methodist Church (now Church of the Village) in Greenwich Village. Approximately 20 people attended. That was the start of PFLAG NYC, and the beginning of the movement of parents and families standing up and speaking out for their LGBT children and all LGBT people.
On May 20, 2018, join with us as we gather at Church of the Village for a celebration of the anniversary. In the company of custodians of our history who were at that very first meeting, along with others who have carried PFLAG NYC into the present day, we will celebrate the continuing work of embracing and supporting the LGBT loved ones in our families and our lives.

There will be live music, moments of inspiration past and present, and a gathering for refreshments, fellowship, and commitment to keep up the work of making sure every LGBTQ young person lives in a world where they are embraced in Loving Families, Safe Schools, and Inclusive Communities.
