Support Group Facilitators
We have an amazing array of online support groups to meet the needs of a wide spectrum of the LGBTQ+ community and its intersections. Groups are led by volunteer facilitators who ensure that all of our families can be supported, affirmed, and represented. If you have lived experience that connects you to any of our groups and you're passionate about guiding, uplifting, and making a positive impact for families, we invite you to get trained as a support group facilitator.
One-On-One Coaches
We offer individual coaching and goal setting to parents and caregivers to help them move forward in accepting, understanding, and supporting their LGBTQ+ loved ones.
If you like the idea of working with people virtually one-on-one to meet their specific needs, we invite you to get trained as a volunteer coach.
Safe Schools Program Speakers
The Safe Schools Program is an educational speaking and outreach program where PFLAG NYC staff and community speakers visit schools across New York City to promote inclusion, understanding, equality, and non-violence. If you're interested in becoming a volunteer speaker for the program, you can find more information and a registration form here.

In addition to the volunteer programs described above, if you have other skillsets or interests that you think would be an asset to our volunteer team, please don't hesitate to reach out through the volunteer form below.
We also need translators (especially for Spanish and East Asian languages), workshop presenters on topics that might be valuable to our community, influencers and promoters to help us with outreach, and more.

Become a volunteer
We will work with your schedule, but we typically need volunteers with evening and weekend availability (the Safe Schools Program is an exception).
